Peer Counseling

AdLib’s Peer Counseling services provide an invaluable resource for people with disabilities who want to resolve their problems and achieve greater independence. Through the understanding, caring, and common experience of another person with a disability, consumers are able to get support and resolve their issues in a positive and constructive way. This service is an essential part of AdLib’s mission to empower people with disabilities and help them lead full and independent lives.

Skills Training

AdLib’s Skills Training Program is designed to help the consumer develop those skills necessary to achieve or enhance an independent lifestyle. Our services empower people with disabilities to make their own decisions and achieve a greater level of independence. Transition Services

AdLib’s Transition Services help consumers move to community living by providing individualized assistance in areas such as housing, access, independent living skills, employment, and education. Our services empower people with disabilities to make their own decisions and achieve a greater level of independence. We are committed to helping our clients lead fulfilling and meaningful lives in the community.

In addition to our five core services, we offer these additional services.

ADA Technical Assistance

AdLib is an educational resource for individuals and the community on issues concerning disabilities and the law. AdLib can provide materials, information, accessibility studies and presentations on the ADA.

Aging & Disability Resource Consortium

Along with Elder Services of Berkshire County and other community organizations, AdLib works to enhance community based options for people with disabilities and elders in Berkshire County.

Housing

AdLib is an information, referral and advocacy source on affordable housing in Berkshire County.

Long Term Care Options Program

AdLib’s Option’s Program helps consumers, family members & caregivers make informed choices about long term services, supports and settings.

MRC Vocational Referral Program

With the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, AdLib helps eligible consumers acquire job readiness skills.

Peer Recovery Support

Peer Recovery Support Services are provided free to consumers with addictions of any type and at any stage of recovery. Peer Recovery Support is not to be used as a replacement for clinical counseling, therapy, or treatment. It is support from a peer with their own lived recovery experiences on common and equal ground.

Personal Care Management Program

AdLib’s PCM Program empowers MassHealth eligible consumers to manage their daily living by employing Personal Care Attendants. The PCA’s assist in such chores as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.

Representative Payee Program

AdLib acts as a third party representative payee to assist people in managing their money and meeting their basic living needs.

Transition to Adulthood Program

AdLib is an educational resource for individuals and the community on issues concerning disabilities and the law. AdLib can provide materials, information, accessibility studies and presentations on the ADA.

Transportation Services

AdLib is an educational resource for individuals and the community on issues concerning disabilities and the law. AdLib can provide materials, information, accessibility studies and presentations on the ADA.

Weight & Seating Independence Project (WISP)

AdLib is a host site for a wheelchair accessible scale. Using this scale, consumers can improve their health by routinely tracking their weight at our independent living center. WISP is a project of the MassMATCH Assistive Technology Program for Massachusetts and funded through a grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.

Our goal is to empower people with disabilities to live more independently and have control of their own lives.
