We Can Get There From Here Toolkit
The Massachusetts Accessible Transportation Coalition is a grassroots effort which aims to provide tools and support to local advocates working to improve accessible public transportation in their region. It was founded in 2025 by representatives of Independent Living Centers (ILCs) throughout Massachusetts.
Goals of the coalition include educating advocates on the governance and structure of Regional Transit Authorities (RTAs) and sharing best practices for transportation advocacy. To meet this goal, the “We Can Get There From Here” toolkit and training has been developed. It explains the Regional Transit Authority system, identifies key accessibility challenges, and outlines concrete advocacy strategies to help strengthen transit options statewide.
