Background:

I have over 25 years of experience in working with vulnerable populations and have dedicated my career to helping people improve their lives by providing support and connection to resources that can enable them to live their lives to their fullest potential.

How did you get involved in the Independent Living Movement?

I began my work at Adlib 8 years ago. It brings great satisfaction to be an integral part of assisting disabled individuals keep their independence and help them take control of their own care. My role at Adlib is in the Personal Care Attendant program which allows eligible individuals to hire personal care attendants to help them do the things they can’t do for themselves. This program keeps people independent, healthy, safe, and in their own homes. Giving people with disabilities the tools to take charge of their life choices, act on their own behalf, and overcome situations that reduce their potential for independence is a very rewarding job.

Fun Fact:
  • My dream job as a child was to be a Mother. I am blessed to have two wonderful children!
  • I love to travel, so far Hawaii is my favorite tropical destination!
  • Sunday dinners are the best part of the week. I love to cook a big meal and share it with my large family!
Something that may surprise you about me:

I love zip-lining. I’ve zip lined in Mexico and several places in the states including the longest zip line span in the USA, traveling at speeds over 55mph!
