Ricky Fareira
Independent Living Program Director
(413) 442-7047 Ext. 25
Background:

I grew up in Queens, NY and attended Hofstra University on Long Island, NY. I have always had a passion
for helping people. I entered the human service field in my early 20s.

How did you get involved in the Independent Living Movement?

I began my career in disability advocacy in 1998 providing services to adults and youth with developmental and physical disabilities. Eventually, I moved into program management roles allowing me to develop my passion for advocacy and work more closely with families and service providers. My passion for the field has led me here, working with the amazing staff here at Ad Lib Inc helping as many as we can within the Berkshires.

Fun Fact:
  • My favorite dish is Jambalaya.
  • I’m a big fan of indie and documentary films.
Something that may surprise you about me:

I love roller coasters and other thrill type rides.
